Group programme for weight loss

This programme comprises 4 sessions which are designed to look at weight loss holistically. The three pillars to weight management are diet, exercise and (the often overlooked) mindset. This is the area this course focuses on.

Examining the role of mindset in weight loss, I use modern research to explain the relationship we may have developed with food and what steps we can take to improve this. There is no weighing involved or discussion of particular diets. You are free to ask questions and contribute, but equally you are welcome to listen without joining in discussion.

Each session ends with a 30 minute relaxing hypnotherapy session to embed positive thinking. This is non-directive hypnotherapy. This means the hypnotherapy is designed to reduce your stress, help you relax and increase your motivation on your weight loss journey rather than instructing you never to eat chocolate again.* The whole programme is designed to promote positive thinking and increase self confidence.

I hold these sessions on a regular basis on Zoom. The cost is £80 for the 4 sessions. If you have a group of friends or family members who would like to join these courses I can run sessions just for you. Please get in touch to find out more and join the waiting list for the next course.

Before the sessions start

I have a telephone conversation with you to find out more about you, your relationship with your weight and any health issues you may have. This is to ensure that my hypnotherapy course is the right approach for you. I then forward my relaxation track to you so you can start to enjoy the benefits before the course starts.

The sessions

Each session follows a similar format. I give a presentation around an aspect of weight loss, with time allowed for questions and discussions. You then identify a small step you could implement to help you achieve your weight loss goal. You do not need to share this with anyone else. Finally the session ends with a relaxing hypnotherapy session to build your resilience and motivation. The sessions last between an hour and an hour and a half.

Session 1

This introductory session covers the role of mindset in our relationship with food. This looks at how evolution has played a part in our natural behaviours and how hypnotherapy can support us in making positive changes.

Session 2

Focusing on stress, we look at techniques to rebuild resilience and change thinking, particularly in the context of comfort eating.

Session 3

We examine the importance of sleep and how the lack of it affects our food choices and lifestyle, before looking at new ways to improve the quality and quantity of our sleep which can then have a positive impact on weight loss.

Session 4

In our concluding session we look at the role of habits in our relationship with food and how we can adapt this knowledge to create new positive routines, alongside updating or discarding more negative patterns.

Between sessions

After each session I send you an information sheet of the key points. This means you have a series of practical (and evidenced) tips to put in place between sessions. You are encouraged to listen to the audio track I have sent you in between sessions for maximum benefit. The sessions run for 4 consecutive weeks.

You can contact me in between sessions with any questions you may have.
