Improve your mindset, your sleep and your stress levels this Christmas with my relaxation class

The run up to Christmas can be exciting and fun but also stressful and busy.  This year take some time for yourself with my Tuesday night classes in Hayfield village hall.  Lasting just over 30 minutes each class provides a chance for you to really settle down and take some quality time out for you to destress and recharge your batteries. 

What happens in a group relaxation session? 

The sessions are all designed for maximum relaxation.  The lights will be dimmed, there will be fairy lights and maybe a candle or two…..to make the environment as cosy as possible so your mind and body recognises that this is your time, your time to fully relax. 

There is no need to talk to anybody else; you can find a spot on the floor to put down your yoga mat, lie down and get cosy under your blanket (or even in a sleeping bag for maximum comfort! It’s up to you.)  There will be gentle background music playing and you can just shut your eyes and begin to settle down before the session begins. 

When everyone is ready I begin to talk and lead you on an imaginary journey (perhaps to a log cabin in a winter’s wood, a morning’s walk next to a misty lake or on a sleigh ride to see the Northern lights.)  The session isn’t hypnosis because there is no goal other than your relaxation and I am working with a group rather than an individual client.  However the benefits are similar. 

What are the benefits to a relaxation class? 

After a relaxation session many people feel refreshed and calmer, as if they have had a good night’s sleep.  (This is no coincidence; there are similarities between the trance state and REM sleep.) 

Your body will feel relaxed as the parasympathetic nervous system will have been activated meaning your heart rate has dropped and your muscles will have relaxed.  This will have helped your body destress and sets you up for a good night’s sleep later that evening. 

You may also feel a stronger sense of peace and contentment as listening to the positive messages in my session will help strengthen your confidence and encourage you to feel better about yourself.
