My therapy work with children and teens
In the 4 years since I qualified as a therapist I have worked with many different children and young people. I give them a safe environment to express themselves and move forwards gently with increased confidence.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy can be so powerful for young people who have more recent experience of play and imaginative day dreaming than many adults. Sometimes they can be a bit wary of lying back in a chair and shutting their eyes but that’s fine; I offer a range of fidget toys and colouring which are both helpful in letting the mind relax.
I make my hypnotherapy personal to the young person so they can travel somewhere in their imagination where they feel happy and safe. This helps their settle down their mind and makes them more receptive to positive ideas.
Anxiety
Most young people I see have some form of anxiety. This may take a specific form (such as stress around exams which is very common) or a phobia. Other young people feel anxious socially or at school. I work with them to move forward at a pace that feels right for them and help them with different techniques to manage their worries.
Whether you are 9 or 90 you are the expert in your own life and I support young people in making small choices and changes that help them gradually build up confidence and resilience.
How many sessions?
It is always hard to know exactly how many sessions anybody will need but I do suggest to think in the region of 6-8 sessions. I do offer a discount for booking a block of sessions (see my prices page.)
